The district Pattaya sits inside, and a quieter town in its own right.
Bang Lamung is both the wider district containing Pattaya and a town to the north of it. Used as an address it usually means the town and the residential areas around it rather than the resort.
It is more Thai, more residential and better value than the beach areas, and there is more land, so houses and villas are easier to find than condos.
